San Zaccaria
The church of San Zaccaria was renovated after the earthquake of 1905, the bell tower, the main façade and the choir were entirely rebuilt.
The interior is adorned with many statues: Our Lady of Sorrows (XVIII century); Saint. Nicholas (XIX century); Our Lady of Providence (XIX century); Saint. Anthony (XX century); Santa Barbara (XX century); the Immaculate Conception (XX century); the Sacred Heart XX).
Among the works to see deserve particular attention the ciborium temple of polychrome marble, the source of holy water and a reliquary in gilded wood with relic of the Holy Cross set in a rock crystal within a silver case, all of the eighteenth century.
Numerous paintings are dedicated to the Madonna: a canvas of the Madonna del Carmine, of the eighteenth century and another and a canvas of the Addolorata always of the eighteenth century, in addition to that of the Madonna of Romania by the painter Agostino Petracca (1865 ca).
The large fresco on the choir is the work of Giuseppe Pontoriero Luzzaro and Reginaldo D’Agostino. The rod at the top of the triumphal arch with the image of Saint Zaccaria is by Giuseppe Pontoriero Luzzaro.
The statue of the protector San Zaccaria is the work of Giuseppe Stuflesser (donated by the municipal administration of Ricadi).
