Belvedere di Ciaramiti

From the terrace of Ciaramiti it is possible admire the coast from the Gulf of Gioia Tauro and Sicily, the Aeolian Islands, the Strait of Messina and the coast of Sicily with Etna.

Amazing sunsets appears from this terrace, but emotional is admire the sunset inside the mouth of Stromboli, which appears twice a year on 19 August and 23 April.

The perched village on the hill is very characteristic for the steep streets illuminated at night.

Here it is told that during a summer night in 1665, in the Ciaramiti Village was celebrated a wedding with so many torches that burning the sky.

Followed these lights, the Saracen pirates unexpectedly fell upon the crowd of guests, taking them as a prisoner with the young newlywed and raiding and destroying the village. Behind the terrace is the 19th-century San Paolo Church which houses an interesting statue of the saint of ancient workmanship.
