San Basilio
The church of Saint Basilio is located ¬in the center of the village, the same place since its origins, around the year thousand.
The neoclassical structure dates to the 19th century and consists to the main nave, flanked by a small lateral nave.
The decoration of 1800’s are designed by Gangemi of Polistena. The marble altar was placed in 1898 and includes a monumental arrangement with the tabernacle in the center. The sculptures, that adorn the ambo, are by Agostino Pantano, a young artist from Brivadi. The new altar is by Giuseppe Pontoriero Luzzaro from Spilinga. Inside, there is a wooden statue of Saint Anthony from the 17th century, coming from the ancient convent of Saint Philip and James (1540-1783)
The baptismal font is an ancient stone basin decorated (XVI century)
supported by a shaped plexiglas support.
On the choir, the 25 pipes (9 + 7 + 9) of the prospectus of the positive organ, by Vincenzo Petrucci, year 1854, are distributed in cusps.
