Museo del Mare
The Maritime Museum in Capo Vaticano, housed in a building that was a former Navy patrol boat until the mid-twentieth century used as a “daytime lighthouse”,
it is interprets of fishing vocation in this territory at least to Roman era, for the presence of establishments for the processing of tuna.
The Maritime Museum has two rooms with exhibitions of fishing and navigation utilities, all donated by the citizens of Ricadi and neighboring countries:
the first one with several showcases with Mediterranean shells and three collections donated by private individuals of exotic shells, the other one with collection of fish, molluscs and crustaceans under formaldehyde and some whale bones.
Along Vibonese coast area, there is a room with a path of educational panels on fishponds and traps with exposed fragments of Roman amphorae, found in the nearby bay of Saint Maria, and containers for salting fish.
Outside, two wooden boats (goiters) and the garden of over 2000 square meters that houses an educational path on the Mediterranean flora.
